NHS England is providing the opportunity to support some carer-focussed rapid-learning pandemic legacy projects. These projects will help to capture learning around best-practice responses to providing support to carers during the pandemic response. This is the chance to recognise and sustain the best insights, knowledge, innovations and collaborations achieved during these challenging times so that they are built into and inform our plans going forward.

Age UK Teesside Christmas Hamper

Our aim this Christmas is to give out 200 luxury hampers to those who will be alone this Christmas in Teesside!!!

In order for us to do this, we have been generously sponsored by the Parkway Centre, Beaverbrook’s, Tesco and the Teesside Charity.

However, we really want to reach those who are most lonely this year:

Kinship has been delivering our ground-breaking Sport England funded Kinship Active Programme for the past 3yrs.  This programme aims to encourage and increase intergenerational physical activity for kinship families across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.  In turn, improving mental and physical wellbeing.

Overlooked- Adfam 2021 Report

Overlooked: Why we should be doing more to support families and friends affected by someone else's drinking, drug use or gambling. 

This report examines Adfam's latest research with YouGov on the prevalence of people currently negatively affected by the drinking, drug use or gambling of a family member or friend in 2021, and the different challenges and impacts these families currently face.

Mental Health Wellbeing and You

Healthwatch South Tees (HWST) worked in partnership with the Tees Valley Healthwatch Network to create a survey to ascertain local views of accessing mental health and well-being services. They received a total of 525 survey responses and spoke to 65 people during the six focus group sessions they facilitated. The team made it their priority to connect with seldom heard groups to truly reflect the diversity of South Tees communities. During the focus groups, they spoke to carers, older people, ethnic minority groups and people with a visual impairment.
