Middlesbrough & Stockton Mind and Redcar & Cleveland Mind both provide carers services in their local areas respectively. They have now teamed up to deliver a new project, complimenting their existing offer, supporting those who look after loved ones who are recently discharged from Roseberry Park. Middlesbrough & Stockton Mind are the first point of contact and will pass over any clients who fall within the Redcar and Cleveland area.

NEURODEVELOPMENTAL CONDITIONS ‘Unlocking minds and opening doors' (Neuro Key April 2021)
The Neuro Key Open Door series of resources has been developed to acknowledge the challenges of living with a neurological condition that is misunderstood, subject to media-driven or political myths and is neither prevalent nor the focus of publicity campaigns. The following stories are all real-life narratives of experiences of adults with or parent caregivers supporting people with a neurodevelopmental disability. We have adopted fictional names to protect their identities.
A Parent Carer Perspective- Replacing the Autism Pathway
As of April 2021, the Children's Autism Pathway has been replaced by the Neurodevelopmental Pathway. The new pathway is for children and young people aged 5-18 years old across South Tees and covers autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The pathway aims to provide needs led support for both the child and family before, during and after diagnosis.

Caring as a Social Determinant of Health (Public Health)
‘Caring as a social determinant of health: Findings from a rapid review of reviews and analysis of the GP Patient Survey’.
The report finds that carers are at increased risk of illness, and specifically musculoskeletal conditions, cardiovascular disease, generalised cognitive deterioration and function, and poor sleep. The report also finds that carers struggle to access services and are at risk of financial hardship.

Caring and Covid-19: Financial Well-Being During 'Lockdown' (Sustainable Care 2020)
This report considers the financial wellbeing of people providing unpaid care (outside their own household) in April and May 2020, during the UK’s official ‘lockdown’ in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also looks at their likelihood of being ‘furloughed’ and at changes in their working hours, analysing these by sex, age and employment status. An estimated 6,048,286 adults provided care to someone living outside their own household in the UK in 2020. They are a ‘subset’ of the 10,991,440 adults estimated to be carers.
