New: Carers Community Grant

Middlesbrough Council have once again launched a Carers Community Fund during Carers Week (9-15 June 2025)

This grants scheme is available to community-based groups who want to support informal carers in their area. The programme is for small grants, from £20 to £5000.

Outcomes for your project should help with one or more of the following:

South Tees Carers Forum: New Opportunity

Job Opportunity: Could you be the next Chairperson for the South Tees Carers Forum. 

Middlesbrough Council in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is seeking an individual for the role of Chairperson for the South Tees Carers Forum from 1st April 2026.

  1. We welcome applications from individuals with experience of unpaid carers services across the South Tees area.   The successful applicant will have an interest in advancing the carers agenda, in line with the South Tees Carers Strategy.

Dementia Action Week 2025: Activities and events happening across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland

Dementia Action Week 2025 will take place from May 19 to May 25, 2025. The theme for this year is to encourage conversations about dementia, aiming to improve awareness and support for those affected by the condition, as well as early diagnosis.

A local care home has donated items to Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency (MVDA) to be redistributed to the local community. Some of the items may be of interest to local carers.

This brochure has been produced by Middlesbrough Council. It aims to help you choose a Care Home either for yourself, a family member or someone you care for.  It's been designed to make sure that, when you are looking for a Care Home,  you have enough information to help you decide which one you would like to live in or recommend to someone you care for.

Posters: Carers affected by substance use of family or friends.

Please find below posters to promote our current survey to understand the experiences of Middlesbrough carers looking after a family member or friend with substance use issues.
