We’re here to listen, provide information and advice, and support you in your caring role.
Our service gives you the opportunity to talk about any concerns or worries you may have, and have some time and space to focus on yourself as well as the person you care for."

Who can access this support?
This service is available to unpaid carers aged 18 and over who live in Middlesbrough or Redcar and Cleveland.
You don’t have to identify as a ‘carer’ to access support. If someone relies on you for support because of their illness, disability, frailty, mental health or addiction, you may be able to access the service.
If you’re not sure whether the service is right for you, the Carer Support service can talk this through with you. Call 01642 257020 or email carers@teessidemind.org.uk
Primary Care Outreach and Support Service
The aim of the service is to work with Primary Care Networks across South Tees, to encourage professionals to identify unpaid carers and support them in their caring role.
The dedicated Primary Care Co-ordinator will work alongside Primary Care services to meet the aims of the NHS long-term plan to grant carers greater recognition and support so that their own health and wellbeing needs are addressed. Primary care services include general practice, community pharmacy, dental, and optometry services, which provide the first point of contact for carers in the healthcare system.
Teesside Mind is working with primary care services to:
- Identify carers at the first point of contact
- Raise awareness of the We Care You Care carers information platform
- Provide information on commissioned services or community-based services for support
- Signpost staff to relevant carers awareness training
- Signpost carers to relevant services for support
- Develop Primary Care Carers Champions
You can inform your GP surgery of your caring role using one of our handy Carers GP Identification Forms.
Dementia Advisory Outreach Service (DAOS)
DAOS provides information and support around living with Dementia in the Redcar & Cleveland area. The team works with carers, friends, relatives and the individual with dementia. They provide information on support services in the area, groups and activities taking place and where to seek specialist help. They can also signpost you to other organisations within the community who can provide the correct support for you.
