We (organisations as shown above) are running meetings for family carers.

A family carer is someone who supports a family member or close friend and may have to sometimes speak up on their behalf.

Are you a family carer who sometimes has to speak up on behalf of your adult relative who:
•    is Autistic, or has a learning disability or both
•    uses community services
•    has current or past experience of inpatient services, for example, an assessment and treatment unit?

We are bringing together family members to talk about their experiences. We want to find out what has worked for you when you have spoken up on behalf of your loved one. We want family carers to help us develop a resource that will help other family carers.

How can you get involved?

We are running two face to face meetings

  1. Leeds: Friday 20 May 10am to 2.30pm
  2. Newcastle: Friday 27 May 10am to 2.30pm

Refreshments will be provided and venue details are provided on request/ booking.

Unable to attend one of the above sessions but can't? Don't worry, we are running two Zoom meetings

  1. Tuesday 31 May 11am to 1pm
  2. Tuesday 31 May 7pm to 9pm

All sessions are facilitated by family members together with self-advocates.
