Middlesbrough Libraries want to hear from local carers about what it means to care, how Covid-19 has impacted and what creative means have helped you during challenging times?

There are so many ways to get involved you can share the names of any books that have made you smile, the books you would recommend to others. You can share some of your own writing, poetry, storytelling or your own photography that depicts your caring experiences. Have you been creative in the last year as we have all spent more time indoors? You can share your artwork, crafting etc.

Ultimately the team are looking for participants to showcase what it means to care for others during the era of COVID-19 and beyond. They will highlight the stories, videos and imagery provided by carers and showcase them via an exhibition, a booklet, an ebook, a website and time capsules.

Activity Bags will be provided to groups with a range of to help stimulate conversation and help capture stories. They will include books, games, stories and professionally designed story prompts as well as cameras for capturing videos and photographs of the sessions. Our focus is on providing informal, fun and positive activities where advice and stories are shared and captured to support future generations of carers.

What a great opportunity to capture a snapshot of how amazing Middlesbrough carers are which will be available for generations to come. Many carers have had to deal with so much more pressure, strain and demand on them due to the pandemic, lets use this opportunity to raise awareness of caring locally and showcase how fantastic you all are!
