A new South Tees All Age Carers Strategy is being developed.
This is a plan to improve the support unpaid carers receive.
It has been shaped by feedback from carers, as well as local authorities and partner organisations.
Based on this feedback, the main areas being focused on are:
Clear Information, Early Identification and Recognition
- Get clear information when needed, be recognised early as a carer, be involved in decisions and not have to repeat information.
Flexible, Joined-Up Support at the Right Time
- Joined-up, flexible support that is easy to access.
- Consistency and continuity across services including digital, community and out of hours support.
Physical Health and Emotional Wellbeing
- Get the support needed to look after mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, and stay connected to others.
Support That Gives Time Away from Caring
- Access to flexible, reliable replacement care that works for carers and the people they support.
- As well as opportunities for time off and short breaks.
Help with Finances, Work and Education
- Get support with finances, employment and education, and balance caring with other parts of life.
