Dementia Action Week takes place from 18–24 May and is an important opportunity to raise awareness about dementia, encourage understanding and highlight the benefits of early diagnosis.
A wide range of activities and events are taking place across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland during the week for people living with dementia, carers, families and the wider community.
Dementia Action Teesside has also created a dedicated Dementia Action Week webpage bringing together local events, support, information and resources from across Teesside, making it easier for people to find out what’s happening near them and where to access support.

This year, the national campaign is encouraging people to share their stories and support the Forget Me Not Appeal. Behind every Forget Me Not badge is a personal story of how dementia has affected someone’s life.
We would also love to help share local carers’ stories, as hearing from others who understand can make a real difference.
