The Mental Health Practitioners, work with carers and families across Teesside to provide additional support with home treatment plans to help avoid hospital admission or with support helping their family members when they have been discharged from care.
The support on offer will include:
- 1:1 emotional support
- Carers support plans
- Support at meetings
- Information and advice
- Support groups and well-being workshops
Middlesbrough & Stockton Mind host regular coffee mornings for Middlesbrough Carers. Here are upcoming dates for your diary:
Thursday 30th September at Jellystone Park 9.30 am-11.30 am (this includes a gardening session)
Thursday 7th October at The Mind Centre on Lothian Road 9.30 am-11.30 am
Thursday 14th October at Jellystone Park 9.30 am-11.30 am (this includes a gardening session)
Thursday 21st October at The Mind Centre on Lothian Road 9.30 am-11.30 am.

Carers ‘Cooking on a Budget’ course.
The team are also offering local carers the opportunity to participate in a short course focused on cooking on a budget. This course is open to any parent/carer in Middlesbrough who looks after a child or adult with mental health needs.
The sessions will take place at Middlesbrough Environment City on Sandy Flatts Lane in the MEC Meeting Room.
The team can accommodate six people per course and have two courses running, the first is now fully booked however there is availability on the second course which runs on the following dates at 10- 12 noon:
- 10 November
- 17 November
- 24 November
A Celebration Event will take place at the end of the course for both groups on 1 December 10- 12 noon at the Jellystone site in Grove Hill.
