Every year Carers UK creates a 'State of Caring' survey to gather as many responses as possible from carers across the UK which forms the UK’s most comprehensive research into the lives and experience of carers. The 2021 survey is now open.
Last year's survey focused on understanding the experiences of caring during the pandemic, over 6,000 carers participated. Responses from the 2020 survey have helped Carers UK campaign successfully for better guidance, testing for carers, PPE for unpaid carers, carers' “support bubbles” and exemptions to allow carers to get a break. As a result of pressure from Carers UK and many other organisations, carers were included in the priority list for the COVID-19 vaccination and we successfully campaigned for specific advice to support juggling work and care.
The more carers that complete the survey, the richer the research and stronger future campaigns will be. It will be fantastic if a high percentage of carers across the South Tees area could complete the survey, so we can share the national data that is produced from the results with confidence that it reflects the experiences of local carers.
As this is the most extensive survey of its kind it will take some time to complete, roughly around 30 minutes. You have the option to skip some of the questions so it is less time consuming however the more information you can provide the better.
The survey will close on 13 September and results will be published and shared in Autumn.
