We’re delighted to announce that Julie McGee has joined the We Care You Care (WCYC) team as our new Project Officer, working with MVDA.
Julie brings a wealth of experience, and her support will allow us to continue strengthening the initiative and build on its success so far, alongside our partners, carers and stakeholders.
I’ve been working in Middlesbrough Council - Public Health as part of the Age Friendly Middlesbrough team looking at how we can support older people to stay healthy, active and enjoy life. It’s been a great experience and I’ve met loads of interesting people.
My previous career has been in education working in a 6th form college, in adult education, and with Middlesbrough Council. I’ve also worked with small and large charities including family work with Save the Children.
I’m delighted to join Mel at We Care You Care and looking forward to bringing my skills and knowledge to support unpaid carers to understand their rights and connect with local support when needed. It’s great to be working with partners who are so committed to offering support to local carers. I have lots to learn but I enjoy a new challenge.
