Looking to refresh your skills and get back into employment

Shaking hands in office space

Every day another 6,000 people take on a caring responsibility and 600 people give up work every day due to the significant demands of caring for their loved ones.

Combining work and caring can be stressful. Whether you're working because you're dependent on your income to support your family or because you love your job and want to build a career, caring for a family member or friend at the same time can make it difficult to focus on your job fully. You are not alone 5 million people in the UK are juggling caring responsibilities with work. Make sure you know your carers rights and if possible talk to your employer about the extra pressures you have outside of work.

You may have left your employment or been made redundant due to the pandemic and are now looking to get back to work. This week is Employability Week and Redcar & Cleveland Council are running a week of skill and support sessions to help you.

Sessions are delivered both in the classroom and online and you can pick and choose the sessions which will benefit you the most to make that move into employment.
