Over the past few months, we have been encouraging local carers to complete surveys whether it be the Census 2021 or the North East Carers Survey to help create a true picture of the caring landscape nationally, regionally and locally. These surveys absolutely have their place in informing Local Authorities, Funders, communities etc of the caring demographic, the prevalence of caring and to some extent the impact caring can have on the carer.

We want to be able to bring life to the data locally, to create meaning to the facts and figures, after all, we are talking about people and what better way to create a true reflection of caring across South Tees than to ask local carers directly to share their stories, experiences, wisdom with our local communities.

We are inviting local carers to work with us to develop a 'Carer's Voice' which simply put is to be made up of your stories expressed in ways that you feel comfortable with, it could be through a blog (an informal written piece), a vlog (a video piece to camera), a case study (your story), a Q&A session, your top tips/ advice, artwork you have created that symbolises your caring journey, your photography. We are keen to work with you to find creative ways of providing insight into what it is like to be a carer in the South Tees area.

If you are looking after a loved one, or know somebody who is, and are interested in getting involved please get in touch with us by emailing: hello@wecareyoucare.info. You can get involved as a one-off or on a regular basis, we can be flexible.
