16 June 2021

As you will all know, last week was Carers Week (7-13 June), a week dedicated to making caring visible and valued across the country.

Local organisations hosted free activities for carers throughout the week which we shared in advance and encouraged carers to take part. We have caught up with some of the services who have shared some great pictures of carers taking part in a range of activities to celebrate their caring roles.

Take a look at what some local carers have been doing over the previous week:

Marie from Age UK Teesside's Time Out Service also managed to go along to Redcar & Cleveland Mind's Carers Coffee Morning with a couple of carers that she has been supporting and shared this selfie with us. Despite having worked alongside Redcar & Cleveland Mind to support carers in Redcar for some time this was the first time Marie and Hannah, Mental Health Practicioner at Redcar & Cleveland Mind's Carers Service, had met in person.

It's great to see the smiles on so many local carers faces and the success of all activities delivered throughout the week

All of the services above deliver activities designed to bring carers together for support and friendship alongside their core offer of providing practical and emotional support to carers.
