Thank you to everyone who supported this years South Tees Carers Week Campaign.
We had a fantastic week raising the profile of unpaid care (putting carers on the map) and connecting carers to the range of local support available.
What we did:
- Shared messages from local carers and professionals in support of Carers Week.
- Attended several events to connect with local carers and network with professionals, we were able to connect with people that did not recognise that they had caring roles previously.
- Launched our new doodle video designed to identify carers and highlight why carers may need support.
- Worked in partnership with Teeswide Safeguarding Adults Board to deliver a webinar to 46 professionals across the Tees.
- Launched a brand new Young Carers Guide which was co-designed by a group of young carers at The Junction Foundation. Take a look.
- Wrote open letters to GP Surgeries and Pharmacies across the South Tees highlighting the value of Primary Care understanding, identifying and supporting local carers. Letters were sent with support from Teesside Mind, Healthwatch South Tees and Tees Valley Community Pharmacy. Read the letters here.
